PODONAMU ArtspaceA man is trapped inside the screen. The figure of a human endlessly entangled with technological devices, or bound meaningless, invites us to look back at the position we now occupy. The system cannot be escaped. It is like a giant rubber wall that rebounds us, so that no matter how hard we try, we cannot free ourselves from its grip.In this final presentation, the duo Nika Oblak and Primož Novak, from Ljubljana, Slovenia, introduce their kinetic installations. Their illusions, which seem to be part of the world, cast a simple, playful, yet ironic light on human beings caught in the widespread obsession with success and fame across contemporary society—or subordinated to the patterns of a dominant culture.A small man who cannot escape from a box seeps into our reality through that allegory. As always, art will never save the world. Escape is our task. For all decisions and actions rest with us—who observe and listen—who are the audience. -
